Writing your way to success

Good writers are always a byproduct of a good avid reading. Authoring a book for yourself needs you to learn the art of writing in a professional way. These professional tips will help you to bring about a good, decent book.

  • Use humor effectively. No one likes to read a dry and dull subject. Inserting humor in between the lines grabs the reader’s attention a little longer and also conveys the message intended in the post. Use of puns and metaphor will boost your writing.

  • Know what you are going to write before you start writing. This will help you plan your plot; the development of the character and also helps in building the basic outline of the entire story.

  • Don’t be afraid of failure and never stop trying. A ratio of failures is built into the process of writing and each failure is a lesson learnt to produce more quality work. Through failure you can learn and understand what exactly you need and what you don’t need to become a better writer.

  • Follow your passion, despite the obstacles. As you know, the luckiest ones are those whose passion is their profession. In case, if you don’t fit the bill, don’t lose heart. There is always another way round. The famous writer Chetan Bhagat although a software professional, worked out his passion to be a writer in such a way that he succeeded winning thousands of hearts.

  • Read a lot and write a lot .Yes, reading various books and understanding different styles of writing is an integral part of finding your own style.

  • Editing is as important as the writing. Some of us have the habit of writing at one go to keep the flow smooth before it drains out from our mind. There might be few typos which we may not notice. So after writing session, make sure you revise one or two times and edit wherever necessary.

  • Play with your ideas and never fear to experiment with them. Sometimes, you may land upon something very creative and would turn out to be the next J. K. Rowling.

  • Lookout for inspiration from all things around you. Nature has given you invaluable source of information creating and manipulating each and every bits and pieces.  Learn from exploring them.

  • Chose your own space and time. It is recommended that you give yourself a time limitation as it will help you to plan and finish your work faster.
